Are you looking for inner peace? Without the chaos?

Updated: Oct 28, 2018

"We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.”Dalai Lama XIV

It seems we live in a time where if we're not fighting against each other, we're fighting against ourselves. And if we're not fighting against ourselves, we're fighting for unrealistic, sometimes unattainable goals.

Chaos, for me, sometimes comes in obvious form, sometimes subtle, and sometimes habitual. Regardless of the form it comes in though, it can come from within us.

Having to separate myself from a victim role and learning to take accountability for my life and where I am today (the good, the bad, and the ugly) has not been easy. As a matter of fact, I'm still on that journey today...

So now what, Dani??

I have compiled four things I practice to bring me back to center, grounding me in peace....without the chaos.

- Letting Go of Control. I've come to notice how much of my anxiety comes from lack of control. If I don't feel like I have control over an entire situation, my good friend Anxiety shows up to the party. Fully armored and ready for panic (and chaos). Control comes from fear, from not fully trusting yourself, and not trusting that you are completely capable of handling whatever life may throw at you at any random given time.

- Giving Other People Power Over You. Doesn't sound familiar? Have you ever gotten really upset over someone saying something [negative] about you? Or when someone cuts you off in traffic? Think of how much control they have over your emotions through your reaction to the event...

- Living In The Past. When you're nostalgic about what was you're missing out on what is. Too many of us bring our past along with us every DAY, that we limit ourselves from new opportunities. I'm by no means discrediting your past experiences, however, they're not with you here today. So leave them there.

-Surrounding Yourself With Toxic People. I've had to cut out a significant amount of people out of my life because they were still actively using drugs and living a lifestyle that was not part of my ultimate goals. It wasn't easy but it made a huge difference in allowing room for new people to contribute to my soul.

We all have challenges with practicing more accountability and less victim-playing, but once we accept responsibility and recognize when we're doing it, we can choose to live a peaceful life, without the chaos.

love always,

"Dani has helped me realize the potential I have to live a happy, successful life. She is an inspiration to all. She met me where I was at and encouraged me to become the best version of myself. She is one of the most genuine and caring people I have met on my journey to recovery. I would not have the outlook on life I do today if it wasn't for her help. She has been an absolute blessing in my life. If you have the opportunity to work with her, I highly recommend you take it."
