Discussing the dangers posed by setbacks

Understanding specific justifications which you are susceptible

Addressing specific situations that might lead to a setback

Discussing the ways in which taking care of yourself can aid in your success

Understanding that stress may indicate that you are trying to do too much

Understanding that fighting a physical illness takes energy and focus away from staying away from Affinity

To help you understand the need to surround yourself with supportive friends

One Day At A Time

Goals of session:

Help you appreciate the risks of boredom as a trigger

To help you understand the benefits of planning rewards and down time

Help you avoid feeling overwhelmed by the past (and future)

To help you understand that the past does not define the future

To help you explore different strategies for focusing on the present

Help you understand that the added stress of holidays increases the risk of a setback

To help you assess your level of holiday stress and identify ways to alleviate it

Help you understand the importance of introducing new activities into your life

Help you understand that new activities and old pursuits may not feel like fun right away

Discussing holidays and Affinities

Recreational activities

Understanding that boredom can lead to a setback

Understanding the benefits of breaking down staying away from Affinity into manageable chunks of time

Exploring ways to enhance staying away from Affinity by planning activities and structuring down time

Avoiding defeatist and fatalistic ideas about the past
